Who I am
Her lifelong passion for the welfare of animals has extended to lots of different areas in her life. She has worked in places like Alley Cat Allies and no-kill shelters in the VA/DC/MD area. It has been great getting to work with rescue animals and she has learned a great deal in that time as well. She have experience with training and sitting for all size animals, so everyone is welcome! She has adopted shelter animals and trained dogs such as an Akita, Maltipoo, Samoyed, Portuguese water dog, Poodle, and many more. Her cat passed away several years ago and this has given a chance to get some more face time caring for pups and cats alike. She has completed several courses through The Animal Behavioral College including Dogs and Cat CPR.
When taking on a new client, Special Pet Care always like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great opportunity for us to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another. Plus, we get to chat face-to-face about your care expectations, which is always great. We have lots of questions! Special Pet Care loves to meet new animals. When meeting your pup/cat for the first time, we always get down on their level and let them approach us, so they know that we a friendly presence. I’m sure we’ll become friends in no time at all!
When your pup/cat is under our care, the happiness and comfort of you and your pet is our number one concern. We always work directly with owners to ensure their pooch’s daily training and activity goals are met. We love using the Tractive Dog Walker mobile app to track the care we give and send photos. Sending daily updates and photos is a great way for you to see how much fun we’re having together! There is no issue giving medication or fulfilling special needs the best we can. Special Pet Care wants to make this process as low stress and pleasant as possible for all parties, and hopefully leaving a smile on their faces.
When Sarah watches your pet
Remotely working provides me an opportunity to give great one-on-one care. Going on long walks in the community, playing fetch in the fenced-in tennis court and going to the nearby lakes for walks are just some of the things I love to do with animals. I’m only a mile from Wild Lake and am very close to Centennial Park as well. I love to get out in the open and exercise whenever possible, so your pup will be right at home with me if they enjoy getting out in the sun and having fun! We’ll make sure to do at least one long walk a day, but pepper in some fetches and smaller walks as we see fit to. I’m happy to stick to any and all schedules or regimens that you have your pup/cat on as well.
